Lanzarote
the mysterious black island of César Manrique

I've been to this beautiful small island in the atlantic ocean two times in my live and it simply fascinates me again and again. The rough volcano landscape, the loneliness, the flat architecture and of course the art of César Manrique who's created big parts of Lanzarote and influenced its architecture in an immense way.
His houses built in lava bubbles in the ground and their connection with natures forms are just breathtaking. A palm tree in the living room and a hole in the ceiling. You can sit and watch the rain shining in the light from your couch.
A restaurant in the ground next to an underground lake with thousands of very rare little blind crabs. Another one built in a mountain with a view to "la Graciosa".
